The Mosconi Cup 2020 is going back to Alexander Palace, London this December 1st through the 4th. The world of pool has taken beating due to Covid. However, we are back on for another master performance between Team USA and Team Europe. Will the trophy return to Europe this December? As we all know Team USA took the title and trophy last year in Las Vegas after winning 11-8.
As of this blog post Team USA will consist of Joey Grey, Justin Bergman, Jeremy Jones, Skylar Woodward. Our very own Jeremy Jones of Texas will return as the captain for team USA. Joey Gray will be his vice-captain. Both Jeremy and Joey are working hard to fill the rosters for the team.
Team Europe will consist of Alex Lely, Karl Boyes, Fedor Gorst, and Jayson Shaw. Alex Lely is serving as captain and his co-captain will be Karl Boyes. Team Europe is also working on filling the spots for the team. This will be Fedor Gorst’s first appearance at the big show.
The total prize fund will be $225,000 to make things interesting. That is $30,000 per player for the winners, and $15,000 per player for 2nd place. The big question will be who takes the win? Will it be the USA for the third year in a role, or will Team Europe take home the trophy? Time will tell… don’t forget to watch the Mosconi Cup via stream if you can’t be in London.
