🎱 WPA Launches New Athletes’ Commission to Strengthen Player Representation

The World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) is thrilled to announce the official formation of the Athletes’ Commission—a pivotal step forward in empowering athletes and amplifying their voice within the global cue sports community.

🗣️ A Platform for Players, by Players

The Athletes’ Commission is designed to represent the rights, interests, and well-being of athletes at every level of WPA decision-making. This new body will allow players to contribute directly to discussions surrounding rules, competition formats, and organizational policies—ensuring that fairness, inclusion, and equal opportunity remain core values of our sport.

👥 Commission Structure

  • 6 elected members
    • 3 male athletes
    • 3 female athletes
  • Members will be selected by vote from the top-ranked WPA athletes.

🗳️ Election Process

  • Elections will take place every two years.
  • Voting eligibility is based on the WPA player rankings as of January 1st of the election year.
  • The first election will coincide with the upcoming WPA Annual General Meeting (AGM).

🌟 Leadership & Representation

We are proud to announce that Ms. Kelly Fisher will serve as the Inaugural Chairperson of the Athletes’ Commission through the 2027 AGM. The Chairperson will also sit on the WPA Board of Directors, guaranteeing athlete representation at the highest level of WPA governance.

Get Involved

The WPA is committed to athlete engagement and transparency. We encourage all eligible players to participate in the nomination and voting process. Stay tuned for key election dates, nomination guidelines, and how to cast your vote.

Make your voice heard. Help shape the future of cue sports.
